Rochester’s premier chamber choir, the Gregory Kunde Chorale, is recognized for performing choral music at the highest artistic standards designed to enrich, engage, educate, and inspire diverse audiences. Founded in 1999 and under the direction of Gregory Kunde, this mixed adult voice ensemble has developed an innovative approach to chamber choir music, bringing a refreshing tone and a worldly polish to performances and growing in critical acclaim and audience base. In oratorio, opera, and song literature, conductor Gregory Kunde brings an unmatched spirit of professionalism and a unique intensity to Chorale performances.

Repertoire features both sacred and secular music, performed a capella or with orchestral accompaniment, while emphasizing new and insightful interpretations. Highlights from past seasons include such works as Thompson’s Peaceable Kingdom, Vaughan Williams’ Serenade To Music, Brahms’ Liebeslieder Waltzes, JS Bach’s Magnificat, the mighty Mozart Requiem, and the North American premiere of Rossini’s Messa di Gloria.
